Clear skies on the mountain this week with light winds out of the northeast and day time highs well above average into the 60’s. . We will be open for scenic rides to the Top of the Notch restaurant snow tubing, skiing and snowboarding on lifts #2 & #3.
With the warm temps today and through the week expect the groomers to be good real fun by mid to late morning but be on the look out for small sapling trees sticking out of the snow. Groomed runs are:
- The Gulch
- Toilet Bowl to Bonanza
- Short Cut to Robins
Be advised: Although temps are forecast to be well above average snow conditions with exposures hidden from the sun will be very firm and dangerous. Stay on groomed runs.
Our friends up in the Sierra are still keeping a keen eye on the potential for a drastic weather change at the end of the month. Check out their finding here. Also, season passes for this spring through the 2016/17 season will be going on sale shortly after Presidents Day. Spring is the best time to get your season pass with the best value.

The Top of the Notch Restaurant is a full service restaurant with sweeping views of the LA basin located at 7800′ above sea level in the San Gabriel Mountains. Visitors reach the restaurant by hiking, or via the Sugarpine chairlift. The restaurant operates seven days a week during the ski season, and on weekends once winter operations have concluded. The Notch serves casual American food, in a beautiful alpine environment.
Sugar Pine Chair Lift (chair 1) ferries riders from our parking lot to the Top of the Notch Restaurant. It gives access to miles of hiking trails including the popular route across Devils Backbone to the summit of Mt San Antonio (Mt Baldy). The ride is approximately 17 minutes and travels a distance of 1 mile.
